Enhancing individual and Community Wellbeing
Psychology focused on empowerment
Therapists of all kinds do positive, meaningful work. And psychology has the evidence to do it well. However, we are mired in social, political, and economic structures that segment and dis-empower these efforts. Join us in creating change.
COMMUNITY WELLBEING NEEDS ASSESSMENT
We hope to expand not only what we can do for the community, but to build up resources for us all to support each other. Please help by providing me feedback to get this going!
Mission:
Providing empirically-based, recovery-oriented psychological interventions to promote individual and community multicultural wellbeing.
About Dr. Reinharth
Dr. Jonathan Reinharth is a Clinical Psychologist from NY. His education has brought him to Cambridge, MA (undergraduate at MIT), through all five NYC boroughs and Nassau County (graduate degree at Hofstra, plus internship and post-doc at AHRC NYC), as well as London, UK (externship). He organized and led a multi-professional OnTrackNY team to identify young people with psychosis, prevent disability, and empower them and their families. Across this journey, he has seen how well-meaning but dysfunctional systems can segregate, judge, and set up barriers to recovery. While there are many excellent tools out there, and many wonderful therapists, traditions in and out of the mental health system promote misinformation, create stigma, and leave people feeling blamed, isolated, and misunderstood. Together, we can upend these practices and build better lives for ourselves, each other, and our communities.
Services
Learning Theory
Individual Services
Growth is a learning process. We approach therapy not by a health/illness model, but through an educational model. We learn through flexible practice to overcome our challenges.
Individual Therapy
Recovery Model
Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy/ Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, with an emphasis on Shared Decision Making. Therapy is not one-size-fits-all: we decide together what are targets, how to measure progress, and when to move on. Your goals and values steer the ship.
